Conversation Modes

This tutorial will provide you information about different modes of conversation.

There are two modes to create a Alexa Skill on GoVocal.AI platform.
1. Basic Conversation Mode
2. Advanced Conversation Mode

1. Basic Conversation Mode

Simply say, this mode is to help Non-Developers, who are new to Alexa Skill development and quickly want to get started with Alexa Skill development with out any coding overhead.

2. Advanced Conversation Mode

Simply say, this mode is for Developers, who are already familiar with the Alexa skill development and want more control over their Alexa Skill and utilize the full potential of GoVocal.AI platform.

Granular Differences in Modes

1. Interaction Model

  • In Basic Conversation Mode you don’t need to provide any Intent Schema and it will be generated automatically.
  • In Advanced Conversation Mode, you need to provide the Intent Schema in the Alexa-in node.

2. User Says Node

  • In Basic Conversation Mode you just need to provide the user utterances inside the User Says node.
In this mode User Says node can take the input or data from any previous node.

  • In Advanced Conversation Mode, you need to provide the rules in terms of Intent Names in the Alexa-in node.
In this mode User Says node can’t take any input or data from any previous node, and acts as the entry point for the start of different conversations in the flow.

Note:
- You can’t switch from one Mode to another mode once project created. By default Advanced Mode is enabled.
- To start in Basic Mode, create a new project with Template labelled as Basic.
